Every cake smash session is baby-led, which means we go at your child’s pace. Some little ones dive into the cake with both hands, while others need a little encouragement—and that’s perfectly okay! My goal is to make sure your baby is happy, safe, and having fun throughout the entire experience. There's no pressure and no rush—just lots of smiles and precious first birthday memories.
We Start with Simple Portraits
Before we bring out the cake, I start with a few classic first birthday portraits of your baby in a sweet outfit or one of the options from my client wardrobe. These clean, timeless shots are perfect for keepsakes and can even be used for birthday invitations, party décor, or thank-you cards.
Custom Themes and Setups
When you book a cake smash session in my Baltimore studio, you’ll get to choose from a curated collection of custom-designed sets—each created to be simple, timeless, and baby-focused. I believe in letting your little one shine, which is why my themes are soft, light, and never too busy.
Think pastel colours, subtle textures, and gentle props that complement your baby’s personality. From soft florals and neutral tones to seasonal touches and playful elements, every setup is styled to reflect your preferences while staying true to my natural aesthetic.

As part of your first birthday photography session, I provide a custom 6-inch smash cake—perfectly sized for little hands and styled to match your selected set. You can choose from a few cake options in soft pastel colours or classic white, all designed to complement your theme while keeping the focus on your baby.
These baby-friendly cakes are just the right amount of sweet, and you're welcome to take the remaining cake home to enjoy after the session. It’s a fun and stress-free experience that parents always appreciate!
Clean-Up Time: The Splash Bath (Optional)
After the smash, comes the splash! I offer an optional mini splash bath at the end of your session. It’s a great way to gently clean up your little one while capturing even more adorable moments. Babies usually love this part—splashing, giggling, and playing in warm water under soft studio light.
